Holistic
What is holistic? Its considering the whole person, including the physical, emotional, spiritual, and
environmental aspects of life.
Anyone can learn to heal. You have to believe in your ability to channel the light, heat, and energy from The
Source.
Everyone has the ability to tap into 'source' and bring in energies of higher vibration that heal and balance out
the person's Chi - Qi - lifeforce energies.

Energy healing, energy work and spiritual healing are general terms that include several healing  modalities
such as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch and  Transformational Energy Healing.  Many are based on the ancient
principals of “laying on of hands” and the idea that the human body consists of energy fields that can be
stimulated through various techniques in order to promote wellness.  Our bodies are infused with life energy
or life force, (Qi in China, ki in Japan, or prana in India) which connects us to universal life force or divine life
energy.  Practitioners of energy work believe that in order to maintain good health, one must keep the body’s
energy in a balanced state.  The practitioner helps the client rebalance his or her energy by enhancing,
unblocking, or dispersing it.  During these sessions the client remains fully clothed.  If desired, the session can
be done without touching the body to aid in the comfort level of the recipient.
What is Holistic Health?

The philosophy between holistic health states that the practitioner must only use safe methods of treatment
while emphasizing the care of the whole person, including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects.
Almost all forms of natural medicine generally adhere to this basic definition. Holistic Practitioners are not
medical doctors and do not treat or diagnose medical or psychological conditions. You should always check with
your doctor should you have any physical or mental conditions that may require treatment.

How is it practiced?

A Holistic Health Practitioner may combine massage therapy, herbology, reflexology, acupressure, yoga,
Traditional Chinese Medicine (not to be confused with Western Allopathic Medicine), polarity, breathwork, or
more while working with a client. Some choose to emphasize the bodywork aspect of the profession while
others choose to act more as counselors or teachers.

How to Evaluate Your Holistic Health

Having a holistic health review is different than having a physical by a healthcare provider. Holistic
Practitiones don’t take your pulse, we don’t stick a tongue depresson on your tongue and we don’t ask you to
step on the scale. Holistic care involves evaluating and nurturing all aspects of our bodies, not the physical body
alone.

Here are some basic questions for you to ask yourself and also to use as a guide enabling you to evaluate how
in-balance your mind-body-spirit is.

1) Are Your Chakras in Alignment?

Our chakras are our energy centers that are the openings for life force (chi) energy to flow through. When they
are blocked or closed we are functioning at a lower level than is desirable. Once these are balanced, we feel
better inside. Ever felt ‘off balance’? Chances are your chakras could need to be balanced. There are some great
chakra balancing techniques on this website.

2) Are You Breathing Properly?

We all do it. We hold our breath.  Training yourself how to breathe properly is very important!

3) What color is your aura?

Our auras are like magnets picking up vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere we go. It is
important to cleanse our auras frequently to free them of foreign vibrations and negative energies. There are
some exercises on this site to help cleanse your aura.

4) How Deeply Rooted Are You?

When our spirits choose to incarnate into a human body we do so with respect and honor for our body.
Imagine the bottoms of your feet digging into the earth and grounding yourself with nature. Try it!

5) Are You Staying Within Your Own Energetic Boundaries?

Often times, we pick up vibrational energies of people and things around us. Remember, everything has
energy. You will experience conflict within your "self" if you become confused by merging your own energies
with energies of others. Make sure the emotions you are feeling belong to you.

6) Are You Tending To Your Physical Needs?

Are you taking care of yourself physically? Do you eat properly? Get enough exercice (we could all use more
exercise)? We need to take care of our physical appearance and body too.

7) Allow yourself to re-energize yourself

We get busy taking care of others that we tend to neglect ourselves. Take time to re-charge even if its time out
to read a book, go for a walk or to meditate. Most people find meditation difficult. Although this is true on
some level, if we practice, we can become proficient. Nothing in life worthwhile comes easy. There are some
great meditation exercises on this website with links to more.

One great way to relax the body, mind and soul is through Visualization. This can be Guided or be
spontaneous. Visualization puts your intention out there. The more specific the intention, the more specific the
results. Remember whatever you believe is what your body will do.

When thinking of Intention, make sure it is:

Clear
Specific
Achievable
You believe it is possible and acheivable
Responsible

Visualization usually takes about 4-6 weeks to work. It is done once in the morning and before bedtime. Some
people do see or feel results the very first time but remember everyoneís body and mind are different and so is
the way they process information so have patience.

Visualize it----Believe it--------Achieve it!        Projection is Perception!
