Mediums
In our modern-day world, the acceptance of mediums has become more accepted and welcomed than it was twenty
years ago. There will always be misconceptions about what a legitimate medium does and can do versus the so-
called Mediums who are charlatans.

If we believe that dying is not the end of our existence but simply the end of the body that was the vehicle for our
consciousness, and that our soul survives and exists somewhere else, then we can accept that it might be possible to
make contact with the consciousness. Some believe that that soul survives death.

When a spirit is contacted it makes an appearance, they sometimes both look the same and different. I once read
that most spirits look about 30 years old. What is nice to comment on is the fact that they appear healthy and
revitalized, not showing signs of age or any illness. Sometimes this can be a great comfort for someone who has not
been able to move on from grief.

Where are these spirits? There are not as far as you think. They are as close as within two feet of you.  The world of
spirit exists all around us, yet normally just out of reach. It is believed the world we live in exists on a different
vibration than the spiritual realm. A medium has learned to attune herself to this different and higher frequency
or vibration.

Spirit contact is generated by thought by both the medium and the contacting spirit. When a medium sits with a
has a session with a client, the medium is in effect filled with thoughts about that client; these thoughts are then
transmitted by the medium into the spirit world. If someone in the spirit world recognizes those thoughts, or the
description or name of the client, that spirit may choose to make contact. It is important to realize spirits have the
choice; a medium cannot in any way force spirits to make themselves known. Sometimes the spirits will want to
communicate in their own time on their own conditions.

Mediums learn to channel the information in forms of pictures, words, voices and feelings. They may not get full
‘pictures’ but bits and pieces. Sometimes the images or information the medium is getting doesn’t make sense to
them, but it may make sense to the client. A medium’s purpose is not to interpret the information, but to deliver it
to the client as best as they can.

A reputable medium may ask one or several questions. Depending on their level of expertise and the way they
have fine tuned their skills, it is not uncommon for them to ask your first name, if you are left handed or right
handed or to ask for a piece of jewelry, clothing or item that has an energy imprint attached to it. This could be
your energy or the person with you are trying to make a connection with. Do not be alarmed if they ask to hold
your hands during the connection process.

It is always best when seeking out a medium or considering a mediumship reading, to ask for referrals from others
who have used the services of a medium. Most people think you need some form of formal 'schooling' or 'training',
but in fact you really don't. Mediumship is one of those gifts that you are born with and it is how you attune and
discipline yourself to those gifts will you be able to be proficient. If you are not willing to keep an open mind when
seeking out the services of a medium, then you should not waste your time or that of the Mediums. To seek out a
Medium just to disprove them or discredit them is a waste of time. Go with an open mind and an open heart and
you will see what they see.
